COVID-19 TIPS

The new normal with COVID-19 has led to widespread changes in our personal and professional lives. As people self-isolate and cities implement shutdowns, our home life and professional life have dramatically changed.

Unfortunately, some businesses have closed their doors temporarily to adhere to city and state guidelines, but this doesn’t have to mean your professional life is put on hold.  Before doors open back up, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and anyone can do these ten things to stay productive while social distancing.

1. Stay healthy!

First and foremost, you need to stay healthy.  Exercising and eating right (as they should always be) is more important than ever.  And your workout regime may have changed dramatically, replaced by potential make-shift workout regimes from household items.  But have you thought about increasing the vitamins and supplements you take to boost your immune system and even prevent some aging effects in the process?

You can help stay healthier and avoid some effects of aging by using supplements to help your body produce what it’s losing. Revactin is one of those supplements. It’s patented and doctor-formulated to help our cells produce an antioxidant called nitric oxide (NO)

2. Work through backlogs and old emails

We’ve all experienced that feeling of emails and requests coming in faster than you can answer them, causing an overwhelming backlog. Seize the day–sit down with your emails and backlogs and address those things you haven’t.

You may even find one from dear Aunt Betty, who’d love to hear from you–share a funny meme with her.  Contacting your old college roommate or childhood neighbor would be a good use of this “down” time, too.

3. Reorganize your files

During your everyday drudgery, pre-Covid-19, you probably didn’t take time to organize important files appropriately. Take this opportunity to get organized! Reorganize your internal file structure and shred outdated documents–or click the delete button. With tax season around the corner and business financials likely in need of reexamining, there’s no better time than the present to go through your files and create a system that works.

4. Organize your desktop

Take a look at your computer desktop. Is it a mess? It is. Now’s the time to clean it! Delete old or irrelevant files, create a new digital filing system and do a malware check to ensure nothing is slowing you down.

5. Streamline your business or social lives

If you’re a business owner, you know exactly where your organization’s inefficiencies lie, but you may not have had time to correct them. Likewise, your home life might have scattered or haphazard processes — now’s the time to identify ways you can streamline these inefficiencies to minimize hurdles.

Taking care of these inefficiencies now will help you be prepared for what’s coming next.

6. Start a blog

If your business or club (or even your hobby) doesn’t have a blog, now is a great time to start one! With extra time on your hands, it’s easier than ever to create new content that displays your expertise.

Research and create a list of topics you might have thoughts about, then put content together for the rest of this quarantine–or beyond. By focusing on this, you might forget what’s got you quarantined.

7. Learn something new

The internet is full of paid and free courses that you can do from home to improve yourself. Think about the skills you have and what you might be lacking. What have you always wanted to learn or get better at? Check out some courses and turn your weaknesses into strengths!

If you find a course that would be good for you, then jump in, what better time than now. Maybe get your friends involved, encourage them to complete it. Learning something new can increase your human capital and take you to new heights–even while we are experiencing some pretty low times.

8. Call your friends or colleagues.

During this time of uncertainty, people are feeling somewhat scared and alone. Reach out to your friends and business contacts and extend a helping hand as a friend. Everyone can use a sympathetic ear and some encouragement right now.

You have no idea what these small gestures could do for others or how they could impact your business/life for the better.

9. Clean

When was the last time your garage or closet was deep cleaned or organized? When you’re back to work, your home “office” will feel brand new!

10. Keep busy!

As tempting as it is to lounge around and binge TV during self-isolation, staying busy is your biggest ally in working through this time of change and uncertainty. Nobody knows how fast the world will come at you during the rebound, so stay frosty. Encourage your friends, family and colleagues to do the same.

By using these tips we hope you’ll be more prepared for whatever lies ahead!
